I Anne Grier of Sumner County and State of Tennessee being of sound mind and memory, but knowing the uncertainty of my time in this world have thought proper to make the following distribution of such worldly goods as a gracious God has given me amongst my beloved children.
1st
It is my will that all my lawful debts and funeral charges be paid out of the hole (sic) of my Estate.
2nd
It is my will that the following described notes one of eighty-eight dollars on Robert & Humphrey
Donelson bearing date April (page 136) fifteenth eighteen hundred and six, another of James
Thomas & David Burton for sixty-one dollars, twenty five cents, dated September the fifteenth
Eighteen hundred and nine, one on John Marshall for thirty-five dollars, bearing the date August
the third Eighteen hundred and ten and divided into eight equal shares and that my four sons John
Motheral, Samuel Motheral, Joseph Motheral and James Grier have each of them one share and
that my two daughters Mary Donalson and Margaret Carver each of them two shares to possess
them and their heirs forever.
Third
It is my will that Mary Donalson have the negro Girl Patty that is living with her now and the
begro boy Glasgow son of Richard during her life, and at her death the two said negroes and the
increase of the girl if any go to use and benefit of the heirs of Andrew Donalson.
Fourth
It is my will that my daughter Jean/Jane Johnson get three hundred and fifty dollars out of my
estate and this is all I can allow her.
Fifth
It is my will that my tract of land near to Gallatin being one hundred and twenty seven acres, and
all my money and bonds and notes and all my other property be equally divided amongst my six
children John Motheral, Samuel Motheral, Joseph Motheral, Mary Donelson, Margaret Carver,
James Grier, then and their heirs to possess forever. I do by these presents renounce all other
wills and testaments and do declare this to be my last will and appoint my two sons John Motheral
and Joseph Motheral Executors of this my last will and testament. Signed sealed and delivered
this sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred & ten.
