In the name of God Amen:
I Martha Alvis of the State of Tennessee and Sumner County being of sound mind and memory
but remembering that it is appointed for all mankind to die do make and ordain my last will and
Testament as follows
First of all I bequeath my soul to God who gave it to be disposed as in _?, and my body to the
earth there to be decently buried at the directions of my Executors and first I will and bequeath
my part of the tract of land on which I now lived to my two sons Ashley and Elisha each to have
an
equal part of the land and _? bequeath one _? to my daughter Nancy and the rest of my household
property to be equally divided between my two sons and daughter to wit Ashley Alvis, Elisha
Alvis, Nancy Alvis and I _ and ordain my sons Ashley Alvis and Nancy Alvis Executors of this my
last will and testament ____? 21 day of March 1816.
