In the name of God Amen: I Alfred Doulgass M. Douglass of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee, being in my right mind do make this my last will and Testament.
First
that all my just debts be paid at the directive of my Executor and Executrix and the balance of the
estate be equally divided between my wife Cherry and my three children James Douglass, _ and
William. (*NOTE: Two other sources I consulted list the second child as Lucy. I believe the name
could be Lucy or possibly Henry. If you have more information
please let me know). I nominate and appoint Burtis W. Ferrell Executor with my wife Cherry
Douglass Executrix. In witness _ I have set my hand and seal, in the year of our Lord June 20
1822.
