Know all men by these present that I Alexander Graham do make this my last Will and Testament.
First that I make my wife Adaline C. Grayham Executrix of my Will so long as she remains un married, Second - That all my just debts shall be paid, I load to my daughter Chloe F. Sumner during her natural life and then to her children the following named property, all the land that I have north of the Gallatin Turnpike, about one hundred & eighty acres also the negroes boys Leaunel, George & Isham, also my negroe man Gillham shall be sold by my executrix either at private or public sale as she think best and the proceeds paid out in a negroe woman and young child and the woman also to be young, and if ne--? one hundred & fifty dollars to come out of my other property or as much as may be necessary to purchase a young woman and child with the proceeds of Gillham. Also one of my three year old horse colts, ten head of sheep & five head of hogs; The horse, sheep, & hogs I give to my daughter but the other articles are loaned during her natural life, and then to her children.
I then loan to my wife Adaline C. Grayham one half of the balance of my real estate or land and also one half of the balance of the negroes and stock during her natural life, and also my Executrix shall sell my negroe woman, Charlotte either to the highest bidder or private sale as she may think best and the proceeds laid out -----? negroe woman and child both young with money enough from my notes and accounts to pay the differences and I sugest (sic) that my wifes property and my youngest daughter Susan A. property may remain together till either shall marry.
I then loan to my daughter Susan A. Graham all the property at her mothers death, all my real
estate south of Gallatin Turnpike & negro property not married and other property to my
daughter Susan A. Graham during her natural life time, then to her children found. As witness my
hand and seal this year of our LORD 1856, the (??) day of May.
