Sarah Almira Wilson, born Abt. 1782; died Bef. 1817. She was the daughter of Joseph Wilson and Sarah White. She married John Barham Bef. 1802. John Barham, born February 13, 1771; died bef. 1825. He was the son of Benjamin Newsom Barham and Sarah Brown.
Notes for Sarah Almira Wilson:
Captured by the Indians when she was about 9 years old [June 26, 1791], and 12 when her family got her back. It was said that her mother and baby sister were also captured at the time and the baby died. The mother was sold back to her husband in a short time. Sarah was kept for 3 years. They were captured by the Indians near Gallatin at Ziegler Fort. Sarah White Wilson (mother) was the sister of General James White, founder of Knoxville, Tennessee. It is said that he negotiated with the Indians for the family to be released.

Moses White, born in Ireland; died 1786 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He was the son of Moses White and Mary Campbell. He married Mary McConnell Bef. 1747. Mary McConnell, born in Ireland.
Marriage Notes for Moses White and Mary McConnell:
Some of these children were the children of Moses' second wife Eleanor ?. I'm not sure which children, though I have read that the six sons and four of the daughters were children of his first marriage to Mary McConnell.
Moses White and Mary McConnell first settled in Charles County, Pennsylvania, upon their arrival in the Colonies. Later they removed to Rowan County, North Carolina.

1. James White, born August 14, 1747 in Rowan County, North Carolina; died August 14, 1821 in Predell; married Mary Lawson April 14, 1770.
Notes for James White:
General James White, the founder of Knoxville, Tennessee, was a distinguished officer in the Continental Army. He was also a Brigadier General in the Creek Indian War. See "Sketches of Western North Carolina," by L.C. Hunter, page 202. His son, Hugh Lawson White (1773-1840), was a candidate for President of the United States against Martin Van Buren in 1836. His daughter, Mary White (1782-1862) was (1) the wife of Dr. Francis May (5 children); (2) the wife of John Overton (1766-1833) (3 children) of Nashville, TN. Overton's home, Traveler's Rest, is now an historic site. John and Mary Overton are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetary, in Nashville.

Patrick Campbell, Duncan Campbell's eldest son, afterwards bought out the lease and estate of lands of his father in remainder, thereby acquiring the fee simple title. He may have had other sons and daughters, but Hugh Campbell is the only known.

Notes for Duncan Campbell:
Duncan Campbell was an officer in the English Army. In the latter part of the reign of Queen Elizabeth, he went from England, forfeitures of large estates were declared in Ulster. Duncan Campbell bought out a least of some of the forfeited lands.
