Resolution on Death of Henry Clay Hermans

The following is a copy of a resolution in the possession of Miss Annie Brown, North Water Street, Sumner Co, Gallatin, TN.

Where as in the great economy of Divine Providence Henry Clay Hermans a much loved member of the Gallatin Sunday School was removed from our midst by sudden death on the 26 of June 1873. That we deeply deplore the loss of our friend and associate yet bow submissively to the will of our Creator, who doth all things well.

Resolved that we tender our deepest sympathies to his parents and relatives and implore the God we serve to bestow on them a large measure of his consoling grace and enable them to say the Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away, Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Resolved that a copy of these resolutions be furnished the bereaved family of the deceased and published in the Nashville Christian Advocate.
