Only two men in this photo have been identified. The man at the extreme right is Charles C. Leath, Sr., son of Isaac and Elizabeth Story Leath. His son, Charles C. Leath, Jr., stands at far left.
The empty chair to the right of Charles was said to represent Charles Sr.,'s sister, Mary Vance. She was killed when a bullet from the gun of a Union soldier entered through their front door. The bullet hole can be seen in this photo down and to the left of the doorknob.
