Caroline Matilda Hollis was born 7 August 1842 in Sumner Co., TN. She was the daughter of James J. and Elizabeth Frances (Smith) Hollis. She married first Andrew Jackson Pearson, the son of Redding Pearson and Milly Hatley, on 18 June 1868 in Sumner Co., TN. Andrew was born 4 September 1836 in Chatham Co., NC and died about 1873 in Simpson Co., KY.

On 1 November 1877, she married Henderson King in Sumner Co., TN. He was born about 10 June 1818 in Fountain Head, Sumner, TN, and died 24 June 1899 in the Round Pond District of Franklin, Simpson Co., KY.

Carrie died 24 December 1910 in Woodburn, Warren Co., KY.
