The certificate is on page 38 of the volume that begins with the date of Sept. 10, 1787. Could father of Thomas Osborn be Benjamin Osborn? Sons listed as Thomas, Bartholmew, and John. Bartholomew Osborn (3 Feb 1775 Botetourt Co., VA - 4 Jan 1860 Greene Co., IN) first married Elizabeth Abbott and second married Betsy Bandy. John Osborn married Henrietta Noble 1 Sep 1810, Sumner Co., Tennessee. Thomas married Mary "Polly" ABBOTT, daughter of John "Jack" ABBOTT & Margaret WILLIAMS, 20 Apr 1809 in Sumner Co., TN. Inf. , Indiana (Foot) Volunteers. He was mustered into service for Mexican War on June 22, 1846. Simpson is enumerated in the 1870 Greene Co., Indiana census with Amanda, William age 20, George W. age 16, Thomas Jefferson age 14, and Josephine age 2. Is Josephine a daughter or granddaughter? He married Amanda MOORE, 12 Oct 1848 in Greene Co., IN. Born 29 Feb 1828 in Greene Co., IN. Died 27 Nov 1904. Buried in Tulip Cem., Richland Twp., Greene Co., IN. A Stalcup researcher lists Amanda Moore Osborn's death as 22 Jan 1904. The Tulip Cemetery list is for 29 Feb 1825. (Not a leap year.) The Tulip Church of God was established around the time of the Civil War. The original log church burned. The cemetery was probably started then also. In 1891 a second frame church was dedicated as Crossroads Bethel. The present brick church was built in 1920.

There are two Martha Osburns listed as buried at Tulip Cemetery. Both have birthday of 28 Apr 1835. One died 10 Jan 1881. The other is listed as 10 Jun 1881. Are there two, or is this an error by the compiler?
