Allen Cromwell NIMMO (son of John Robert NIMMO and Elizabeth Jane ORR). Born 22 Nov 1785 in VA. Died 19 Sept 1848 in Trenton, Gibson Co, TN. Allen married 2 Sept 1819 Cassandra OWEN born 24 Sept 1799 Maryland. Died 20 May 1867 Trenton, Gibson Co. TN.
NOTES:
In 1832 Allen was the TN Trustee of Gibson Co. On the 21 of March 1836 he became the Gibson, County Court Clerk until his death in 1848. The last record of Allen is a signature in the records of the Clerks Office on the 18 of September, 1848 just one day before he died. Not long before he died the Trenton TN Milan Tennessee News Advocate published that Allen C. NIMMO has been cured with Cowan's Vegetable Lythontripic. The Nashville Christian Advocate reported the death notice, 6 Oct 1848.

Mrs. LANDIS Dead: Oct 27 1918 Trenton, TN. Mrs Jane Nimmo LANDIS a valued mother in Israel died quietly and without pain at her family residence of High Street on Sunday night aged 89 years. Mrs LANDIS was born in Trenton was born in the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. NIMMO, the place known now as the home of her Bob BOON. Mr. NIMMO was at this time, 1830 County Court Clerk, he as crippled and was rolled back and forth from him home to Trenton's first court house in a small invalid wagon. Mrs. LANDIS lived her long and useful life wholly in Trenton. She was married 70 years ago to Mr. Benjamin LANDIS. Mr. and Mrs. LANDIS were representatives of two of Trenton's oldest and most highly honored families. Mrs. LANDIS was a notable patient during her long years of invalidism and was a beautiful example to there children and friends. She was most appreciative of all kindly attentions shown her by her host of friends, who came often to see her, brining flowers and dainties and those who otherwise ministered to here happiness. She was the oldest citizen of Trenton and also the oldest living member of the Methodist Church of this place. The funeral was held from her residence at 3 PM O, Clock Monday afternoon, Rev. S. L. JEWELL officiated in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The pallbearers were judge W. C. CALDWELL, Judge Jno R. WALKER, A. S. ELDER, G. W. EVERETT, F. H. DEMENT and E. A. HERRON. Floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. Interment took place at Oakland Cemetery.
