I William Gwinn of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee being in a low state of health,
but of sound and disposing mind doth make the following my last Will and Testament revolking
all others in the name of God Amen. First of all I will and ordain that all my just debts be paid.
Item 1st I give beloves son Ezekial Gwinn one piece of land lying South of the dry fork containing
sixty acres, more or less, also a negro boy by the name of Ford and a small negro girl by the name
of Ann.
Item 2nd
I give unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Wilkerson one piece of land where she now lives,
containing Sixty acres, more or less, also one negro girl named Polly and one negro boy named
Andrew.
Item 3rd
I give unto my beloved son James Gwinn one piece of land where ;he now lives, containing one
hundred acres. Also one negro girl named Paty and one boy by the name of Harry
Item 4th
I give unto my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Gwinn one negro girl by the name of Rachell, also one
piece of land on the north side of the dry fork joining John Mcwiells farm, containing sixty acres
more or less
Item 5th
I give unto my beloved wife Hannah Gwinn one negro Girl by the name Sydia, also the house and
the following part of the ?ianed land, on the farm, on which I now live, during her life to wit:
Beginning at the Grave yard and running thence South to the creek, thence East down the creek,
oposite the South East croner of my farm, thence north to James's line, thence West to the
beginning. Also all the wood land undisposed of. Also choice of Cows and the mare by the
name of Will. I give unto my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Gwinn one gray mare and second choice
of Cows, and her bed and chest.
Item 6th
I give unto my beloved son William Gwinn one tract of land lying on the Ridge on the road that
leads from Cairo to Brackins by Johnson's Gap, containing one hundred and fifty acrtes, I give
unto my three son's to wit, James, William and Ezekiel Gwinn and my son in law Benjamin
Wilkerson, my Saw Mill equally between them Also the old Negro woman Charney and her child
by the name of Jane equally between them. I give unto my Wife Hannah and my Grand Daughter
Elizabeth, all my hogs and sheep and plows and grass and a hoe. I will and ordain that my
wagon, wagon Cloth, two horse, and horses and gear, one log chair and fifth chair, be sold to pay
my debts, and also my farming utencials and stock undisposed of to pay my debts and the
remainder to given to my son william. I also Will and ordain that my wife Hannnah and my Grand
daughter shall have all the money arising to me after paying my debts. I give unto my Wife
Hannah Gwinn one bed and furniture and also Kitchen funiture. I also Will and ordain, that one
lot of be sold and the to my wife. I also give unto my two sons James and Ezekiel Gwinn and my
son-in-law Benjamin Wilkerson, one hundred and twenty five acres, joing my hundred and fifty
tract, on the Ridge, equally between them, I also give my wife Geniver, one years provissions out
of the present crop and that the remainder, I will to be sold; I do hereby, constitue, nominate and
appoint My son James Gwinn and George McGuire Executors of this my last Will and
Testament. In Witness where of I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal. This 9th day
of January 1827.

The last Will and Testament of William Gwinn dec'd was exhibited in Court for probate, and was
duly proved agreeable to Law, by the Oaths of G. H. Baskerville, John McWiell, and Saunders
Moncreiff subscribing witnefs there to and ordered to be recorded, thereupon James Gwinn and
George McGuire the Executors therein named appeared in Court, and agreed to take upon
themselves the burthere of the Executiors there of and intend into bond with Josiah Lauderdale
and James Stewart, this securities in the sum of Twelve Thousand Dollars, Conditioned as the law
directs and took the oath of Executors prescribed by Law
