William C. (possibly Carroll) Harper (son of Jesse Harper and Mariah Maria Watson) went by W. C. He was born September 1841 in Robertson Co. Tennessee. William C. died 7 August 1923. William is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery. He married Margaret (sometimes spelled Margret) O. Porter on November 8, 1864 in White Co. Illinois. Margaret was born September 1844 in Illinois. She died 6 February 1902. She is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.

1. Charles A. Harper born 1865. Married Clora Bryant in White Co. IL on 25 October 1893.

2. John A. Harper born 1866. Married Sarah Ackley in White Co. IL on 22 April 1888.

3. Lewis E. Harper born 1870. Married Jennie E. Galloway in White Co. IL on 27 March 1890.

4. Jesse T. Harper born July 1874. He went by Thomas J. Harper. Married Minnie Davis Hunter on 23 April 1896. Margaret died of pneumonia in the left lung on February 6, 1902. Thomas and Minnie lived with William and Margaret for their first few years of marriage and worked the farm. Mary, their first child and only daughter, was born and died between 1896 and 1899. W. Ottis was their first son, he was born on August 23, 1900, died 1969. H. Oatis was born 1902. E. Olen was born 1904. Oscar was born August 15, 1906, died April 29, 1992. Jess Thomas was born August 15, 1908, died April 1975. Dale was born abt. 1912. Ray was born June 6, 1918, died September 1986. After 1900 and before 1910, Thomas and Minnie moved to Gallatin Co. IL, Omaha Township.

5. Simeon A. Harper born 1877. Simeon died young in 1899, and is buried near his parents. Married Delia Garrett in White Co. IL on 3 July 1898. Delia also died young in 1905 and is buried next to her husband.
