Charles C. Chenault, a practical and progressive young farmer of the First District of Sumner County, engaged also in stock raising, was born in the county in 1858, being the youngest of fourteen children born to the marriage of David and Louisa (Quisenberry) Chenault. He was raised at home and received his early education at Rural Academy, finishing at Stonewall College, in Robertson County. After reaching his majority he turned his attention to farming, and by his energy and clear judgment has placed himself in rank with Sumner County's most enterprising and progressive farmers. He owns 280 acres of fine land in the First District, ten miles northeast of Gallatin. In politics Mr. Chenault votes with the Democratic party, his first vote for president being cast for Gen. Hancock, in 1880. He is a consistent and useful member of the Christian Church and is a young man of influence and integrity.
