Arthur Hobdy's Funeral
Scottsville, KY, March 21 - (Special) - Funeral services for Arthur Hobdy, 60, prominent business man, who died Friday afternoon at his home here, will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Main Street Methodist Church, Scottsville, conducted by the Rev. J. L. Piercy, pastor, and the Rev. Harry L. Green, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Scottsville. Burial will be in the Crescent Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hobdy was president of the farmer's National Bank for thirteen consecutive years.

"Prominent Bank...Dies at Scottsville"

Scottsville, KY, March 21 - (Special) - Arthur Hobdy 60, president of the Farmers National Bank for thirteen consecutive years, prominent business man and farmer, died Friday afternoon at his home on West Main Street of heart trouble.

Mr. Hobdy was born near Portland, Tenn., and in his early manhood was employed by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company in the bridge crew department. He was a senior partner in the firm of Hobdy, Dye and Read, garage company. For twenty-two consecutive years he was the local Ford agent in Scottsville.

Mr. Hobdy became president of the Farmers National Bank on November 3, 1923, when the bank was organized and also served a similar number of years on the board of directors of the bank. He was regarded in banking circles in this State as a safe banker and was well know in Louisville and Nashville banking circles. He was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church, Scottsville.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Era Hobdy; four sons, William Hobdy of Memphis, Arthur Hobdy, Jr., Dick Hobdy and John Hobdy, all of Scottsville, and seven daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Perkins, Mrs. George Taggart and Mrs. Wick Didson, all of Bowling Green, and Miss Earline Hobdy, Miss Elsie Hobdy, Miss Eva Hobdy, and Miss....Hobdy of Scottsville.
