I, Daniel Dismukes, of the State of Tennessee and County of Sumner, .....being of sound mind and memery, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, revoking all others whatsoever.
Item 1st The payment of all my just debts must be made as soon as every expediency will permit.
Item 2nd. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Eliza Ann Dismukes,.... ...negro boy named Jordan, to be valued at three hundred dollars. To my daughter, Jane Dismukes, I give a negro girl, named Hannah to be valued at two hundred dollars, to each of ..daughters, I desire shall be given a feather bed and furniture.
Item 3rd. I have given to my children who have heretofore married the following portions( to each) to my daughter, Martha Hassel, I have given a negro girl, Mary, valued at four hundred dollars-to my son George Dismukes, I have given at different times three hundred and fifty dollars in cash, to my daughter, Lucinda, I gave a negro girl named Maria, worth two hundred dollars, to Louisa Doumas, I gave a boy worth two hundred and fifty dollars, to my daughter Evaline, I gave two hundred dollars in cash, to my son John Dismukes, I give five hundred and fifteen dollars in cash, to my son Stephen C. Dismukes, I have given one hundred dollars in money. The balance of my Estate that will fall to him, I desire shall go to his child that he had by his wife in Alabama. And if the child should die, to return to his father the said Stephen C. Dismukes.
Item 4th. All above named .. ...be received and accounted for in the division of my estate at my death.
Item 5th. The remainder of my estate that will fall to John E. Dismukes at my death shall go to his two children by his first wife named Benjamin and Harriet Ann Dismukes.
Item 6th. I have given to my son William Dismukes two hundred dollars in cash.... ........for in the division of my Estate at my death.
Item 7th. I ... ....that my son George E. Dismukes be executor of this my last Will and Testament. In .... ...of I subscribe my name this 28th day of April, 1853.

The last Will and Testament of Daniel Dismukes, deceased, was this day produced in open Court for probate and to be duly proved by the oaths of H. W. Harper and Lee S. Dunn, subscribing ... ....and in order to be recorded. And George Dismukes, the executor named in said will, appeared in open Court together with Albert G. Dunn and William Winham.... ....and entered into and acknowledged their bond to the state of Tennessee in the final sum of five thousand dollars conditioned ..the law direct, and took the oath of executor perscribed by law.
