Know all men by these present that I William Payne Snr of the county of Sumner of State of
Tennessee have this day bargained sold and delivered to Wm Payne Jr. of the county of Davidson
and State above mentioned two negro slaves named Calz? aged about nine years and Rachel ages
about seven years; for and in consideration of one thousand dollars to me in hand paid the receipt
of which is hereby acknowledged. I warrant said negroes sound sensible and healthy and slaves
for life.

Personally appear before me F. R. Cheatam clerk of the county court of said county the within
named William Payne the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowleged
that he executed the annexed instrument for the purposed therein contained. Witness my hand at
office this 8th day of July 1859.
