Know all men by these presents that we Marmaduke Lay & Martha Lay his Wife daughter of Robert Watkins dec'd formally of Sumner County Tennessee of Gallatin County Illinois for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred & Seventy five dollars to me paid by James Watkins of Sumner County Tennessee the receipt whereof hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the hands James Watkins all our right title and interest in an to the estate of the said Robert Watkins dec'd which either or both of us may have or may acquire by reason of this said Martha being heir of the said Robert dec'd.
In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seals the 30th day of November 1846.

Before me the undersigned Notary Public in and for Gallatin County and State aforesaid
duly commissioned and qualified personally came Marmaduke Lay Martha Lay his wife and
acknowledged the signature to be annexed Deed to be their free and voluntary act And the said
Martha wife of the said Marmaduke being examined by me separate and apart from her husband
did acknowledge her signature to be her own free and voluntary act and without the compulsion
of her said husband.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my notorial seal at
Shawneetown County & State aforesaid this 30th day of November A.D. 1846
