Deed John Peyton Sen. to William Bloodworth for 70 acres. This Indenture made this
Seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & twenty three between John
Peyton Sen of Sumner County State of Tennessee of the one part & William Bloodworth of the
County & State of the other part Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the sum of seven
hundred and one dollars to the said John Peyton in hand paid by the said William Bloodworth
before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge &
release acquit & discharge to said William Bloodworth his executors & administrators by these
presents He the said John Peyton hath granted bargained sold aliened & confirmed by these
presents doth grant bargain sell alien & confirm unto the said William Bloodworth & his heirs a
certain piece or parcel of land situate lying & being in the county afs'd bounded as followeth
Beginning at a black ash southeast corner of said John Peyton's survey in the line of John B.
Johnson on the west side of West Station Camp thench south with Bartholamew Bretts line sixty
six poles to a stake thence north seventy seven degrees west one hundred & forty poles to
hackberry dogwood & elm, thence south one hundred & eighty poles to a stake in the south
boundary line of said survey thence east with said line one hundred & thirty six poles to the
beginning to include seventy acres 16 poles & all houses, buildings, orchards, ways waters water
courses profits commodities heridiments appertances whatsoever to the said premises hereby
granted & the divisions & reversions remainder & remaining rents issues & profits thereof also all
the estate right title interest in trust property claim & demand whatsoever of him the said John
Peyton of in & to the said premises with said William Bloodworth his heirs & assigns forever to
them only proper use benefit & behoof & the said John Peyton for himself his heirs exor's &
adm's doth covenant & agree to & with the said William Bloodworth that now at the time of
dealing & delivery of these presents he is sured of a good ____ prospect & inde___able state of
inheritance in fee simple of & in the premises hereby bargained sold & hath absolute power &
authority to grant & convey the same & that he will truly warrant & forever defend from all
person or persons the title of the said bargained premises to the said William Bloodworth his heirs
or assigns in testimony whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day
and date above written.

State of Tennessee Sumner County Court May Term 1823. The within deed of bargain & sale
from John Peyton Sen. to William Bloodworth for seventy acres of land was acknowledged in
open Court by the bargainer for deed to be registered
