This Indenture made this thirty first day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight, between George Cummings of Sumner County and State of Tennessee of the one part; & Philip Keser of the said County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said George Cummings for and in consideration of the sum of Seven Hundred and fifty Dollars lawfull money of the United States to him hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof a quit the said Philip Keser hath granted bargained & Sold Alliened, Released and Confirmed; and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien, Release and Confirm, unto the said Philip Keser & his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying in the said County of Sumner on both sides of Spring Creek Beginning at an elm James Mulherins North West corner running North three hundred and twenty poles to a stake thence East three Hundred and twenty poles to Nathaniel Lawrances East boundary thence South three Hundred and twenty poles to an ash said Mulherins North East corner thence West three Hundred & twenty poles the beginning; being part of a tract of one thousand acres, granted to a certain John Blair, by the State of North Carolina by patent, baring Date the 15th Day of September 1787 and Numbered 388, containing by estimation Six Hundred acres be the Same more or less, together with all and Singular the Hereditements and appurtinances to the said tract of land belonging or in anywise appertaining. To Have and to Hold the said tract of Six Hundred acres of land with the appurtenances to the said Philip Kiser his heirs and assigns to the only proper use & behoof of the said Philip Kiser his heirs and assigns and the said George Cummings for himself and his heirs Executors and administrators, Doth covenant and agree to and with the said Philip Kiser, his heirs, Executors, administrators and assignes, to warrent and defend the said six hundred acres of land and every part, and parcel therof to the said Philip Keser & his heirs and assignes against the title and claim of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the parties have hereto hereunto set their hand and affexed their seals the day andyear first above Written--
