This Indenture made the second of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred & thirty
three between William McCann of the State of Tennessee & County of Davidson of the one part
and George Marcum of the State of Kentucky, Simpson County of the other part witnesseth that
said William McCann for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars to him in hand
paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have bargained & sold & by these presents
doth bargain sell & confirm unto the said Marcum, his heirs Executors & C (?) two hundred
acres of land lying on the waters of Trammel Creek in the county of Sumner & State aforesaid
which may be more fully seen by having reference to the Grant of No. 3238 (or 3233) issued the
24th Day of November 1797. Beginning on the North boundary of the original tract. Beginning at
a Stake Bennet Phillips' North West Corner, running West one hundred & ninety poles to a
Stake, Thence South one hundred sixty-eight & half poles to a Stake. Thence east one hundred
and ninety poles to a stake on Phillips' line, thence North to beginning Containing two hundred
Acres more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tract and bargained premises to the said
Marcum, his heirs & assigns forever and the said McCann Doth oblige himself to warrant and
forever Defend the Said land against the lawful Claim of Every person whatsoever. In testimony
whereof & have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the day and year above written.

Sumner County ~ Personally appeared before me Alfred H. Douglass, Clerk of the County Court
of Sumner County Elisha Marcum & Pleasant Marcum Subscribing witnesses to the above deed
who being first sworn deposeth and sayth that they are acquainted with Wm. McCann the
bargainer that he executed the above deed on the day on which it bears date in their
presence.
