This Indenture made this the 12th day of August 1813 between Pewett H. Henderson &
Littleton Henderson of the one part and Thomas Stark as trustee for the Babtist(sic) Society of
the other part. Witnesseth that the said Pewett H. & Littleton for and in consideration of twelve
dollars to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Stark for the use of the Babtist Society aforesaid
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do
bargain & sell unto the aforesaid Thomas Stark one acre of land it being part of one hundred &
fifty acres of land conveyed by William Hawkins to William Henderson deceased & adjoining
the South boundary of said tract. Beginning on a Haw tree where the road leading from
Hendersons Mill to James Sanders ferry intersects said South boundary on the West side of said
road thence to run with said South boundary line West so as to include one acre of land between
said boundary and the road aforesaid as near in a square as possible. To have & to hold to the
said Thomas Stark his heirs & assigns forever to the only use and in trust for the Baptist Society
aforesaid and the said Pewett H. & Littleton do by these presents covenant & agree with the said
Thomas Stark his heirs & assigns that they the said Pewett H. & Littleton will for themselves
their heirs & C warrant & defend the aforesaid acre of land unto the aforesaid Thomas Stark his
heirs & C for the use aforesaid against the claims of all persons whatsoever. In Testimony
whereof they have hereunto set their hands & affixed their Seals the day & date above
written.

The within deed of bargain & Sale between Pewett H Henderson & Littleton Henderson of the
one part & Thomas Stark of the other part for 1 acre of land was duly proved in open Court by
the oaths of Daniel Hansbrough & Henry Hoover subscribing Witnesses thereto & ordered to be
Registered.
