James Roney, Jr. to John Stewart, Lot No. 11
This Indenture Made this twenty fifth day of August One thousand eight hundred and fourteen between James Roney Jr. of Sumner County and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Stewart of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Roney Jr., for and in consideration of the sum of thirty five Dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Stewart the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed forever a certain Lot or parcel of land situate lying and being in the South West Square of the Town of Gallatin in the County and State aforesaid known in the plan of said Town by Lot Number eleven bounded by Lot No. five on the North by Smith Street on the South by Lot No. ten on the East and by lot No. twelve on the West containing Sixty poles of land more or less said Lot was conveyed by William Mitchel to Benjamin Roney the twenty first day of February one thousand eight hundred and three, To have and to hold the aforesaid Lot or parcel of land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Stewart his heirs and assigns forever and the said James Roney Jr. for himself heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said John Stewart his heirs or assigns that the before recited Lot and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever to him the said John Stewart his heirs and assigns forever.
In witness whereof the said James Roney, Jnr. Hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the date above written.

The within deed of bargain & Sale between James Roney Jr of the one part & John Stewart of the other part for a Lot in the South West Square of the Town of Gallatin No. 11 was duly acknowledged in open Court by the said James Roney the bargainor & ordered to be Registered.
