This Indenture made this Seventeenth day of September One thousand eight hundred and four between Jas. Roney of the County of Sumner State of Tennessee of the one part and Jesse Dawson of the County & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said James Roney for & in consideration of the sum of Fifty six dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid or secured by the said Jesse Dawson before the signing & Sealing thereof the receipt whereof the said James Roney doth hereby acknowledged, Have granted bargained sold conveyed & confirmed & by these presents do grant bargain sell convey & confirm to the said Jesse Dawson his heirs & assigns forever a certain lot of land Situate in the town of Gallatin in the County aforesaid known in the plat of said town by lot No. 6 in the South West Square bounded by lot No. 5 on the East, by No. 12 on the South, by Main Street on the North & by James Trousdale’s line on the West, Containing sixty poles of land more of less, To have & to hold the above described lot or parcel of land with all & singular the privileges hereditaments & appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining, to the said Jesse Dawson his heirs and assigns forever against the legal title claim or demand of the said James Roney his heirs Executors or assigns or any other person or persons do and will warrant & by these presents forever defend. In witness whereof the said James Roney has hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

The within deed of Bargain & Sale between Jas. Roney of the one part & Jesse Dawson of the other for a lot in the South West Square in the Town of Gallatin No.6 was duly proved in open Court by the Oath of John C. Hamilton a subscribing Witness thereto & ordered to be Resisted.
