I Benjamin Roney have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to George Legg and his heirs forever for the consideration of One hundred & forty dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Sumner County and District No.18 containing by estimation Ninety six acres three Rods & 30 poles be the same more or less and bounded as follows Beginning at a dogwood running 96 East 220 poles to a large white oak thence South 78 poles to a stake thence West 218 poles to a stake in Calwell's old line thence with is line 63 poles to the beginning, To have and to hold the same to the said George Legg his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land to the said George Legg his heirs and assigns forever against any claim to be made by myself or any person claiming through or under me but no further the 29th April 1848. Personally appeared before me John L. Bugg Clerk of the County Court of said County Geo. H. Allen & John Clendening subscribing witnesses to the written deed who being first sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with Benj Roney the bargainer and that he acknowledged the Executor of the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date and for the purpose therein contained. Witness my hand at Office this 24th of August 1850.
