Whereas a Judgment given in favor of the State by the Circuit Court of Sumner County at February Term 1847 for Three hundred dollars 71 cents for Taxes Costs & Charges due and unpaid for the Years 1840, 1841, 1842, 1843, 1844 & 1845 against a tract of land of which Isaac Hudson is the reputed owner Containing by estimation One hundred acres lying in Tennessee Sumner County District No. 18 and bounded as follows: Beginning on a dogwood Calwell's Survey thence running East 170 poles to a black oak thence South 114 poles to a stake a corner designated in an Original deed of John Bigg's to said John Hudson which deed is said to be lost, thence farther South so as by running 86 poles the same quantity of land included which will be lost on the West end of said tract of land continue in said Original deed referred to above thence West 86 poles to a stake thence South with a line designated in said Original deed __ poles to a White Oak thence West __ poles to a stake on Calwell's line thence North on said line to the beginning on which Judgment an Order of Sale ipued? And came to my hand as Collector of said County on the 18th day of March 1847 by virtue of which after advertising and given notice agreeable to law I sold the said land at the Court House of said County on the second Monday of April 1847 at Public Sale to Benjamin Roney for the sum of three dollars 71 cents to me in hand paid that being the highest and best bid for the same. Therefore I James T. Bracken as Collector of said County in consequence of the premised and for the consideration of the sum of Three dollars 71 cents do hereby transfer and convey the said tract of land above described to the said Benjamin Roney and his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as I am as Collector as aforesaid authorized? And required to do by law but no further or otherwise the 12th day of April 1847.
