DEED - for 14 Acres - deed book 6, pages 64-65
This Indenture made this twenty-eight day of January eighteen hundred and eleven
Between James Reed and Hugh Findley both of Sumner County and State of Tennessee
witnesseth that the Said James Reed for and in Consideration of Sixty Dollars to me in hand paid
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto
the Said Hugh Findley his heirs &c a certain tract or parcel of land situate on the waters of
Station Camp in our County of Sumner and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a White Oak
and dogwood the North east Corner of a survey of two hundred and twenty eight acres Surveyed
and granted to Joshua Scott and Hugh Crawford runs South one hundred poles to hickory on the
line of David Kennedy. Thence West with said Kennedy's line twenty two poles and two fifths of
a pole to a stake. Thence North One hundred poles to an ash on David Looney's line. Thence East
to the Beginning making fourteen Acres be the same, more or less To have and to hold to the said
Hugh Findley the above described land with all it's Singular its rights and appurtenances
whatsoever to the Said Hugh Findley his heirs and assigns forever and the said James Reed doth
for himself his heirs &c Covenant and agree to and With the Said Hugh Findley his heirs &c to
warrant and forever defend the above described fourteen Acres of land with all its rights and
privileges against all legal Claims of all persons whatever. In Witness Whereof the Said James
Reed hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the day first above written.
