TRANSCRIPT SAMUEL GILBERT TO RIGGSBEE HEIRS
I Samuel Gilbert have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to L.B. Riggsbee, Robt. Riggsbee and A. W. Riggsbee and their heirs forever for the consideration of one hundred dollars to me paid in hand a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Sumner County District No.18 containing by estimation forty two acres 3 rods and 5 poles be the same more or less bounded as follows: Beginning on the center of Turnpike D. Carters south boundary line running E with said line 27/100 chains to a rock on the North side of Red River, thence S 50 E 6 15/100 chains to a rock in the mouth of Micajah Griffin spring branch, thence W 13 chains to a white oak, thence s 9 ¼ chains to a stake, thence W 19 30/100 chains to a stake, thence 7 67/100 chains to T. P. Armstrongs NE croner, a stake M. Griffins West boundary line, thence West 8 ½ chains with said Armstrongs lie to the center of the Turnpike, Thence with the Turnpike N 9/10 the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said L. B. Riggsbee, Rich Riggsbee and A. W. Riggsbee their heirs and assigns forever. I do covenatn with the said L. B. Riggsbee, R. J. Riggsbee & A. W. Riggsbee I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unincumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and represenatives to warrant and forever defend the title of the said land and every part thereof to the said L.B. Riggsbee, R. S. Riggsbee & A. W. Riggsbee, their heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons, this 29 day of December 1858 executed and delivered in our presence.
