This indenture made this twenty eight day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirteen between John Gwin of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Gilbert of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and ninety six Dollars to him the sd John Guin in hand paid by him that sd John Gilbert the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted sold enfesff and conveyed unto him the sd John Gilbert all that certain Tract or parcel of land and premises of two hundred and forty seven acres situate lying and being in the sd County of Sumner on the heads of the western branch of the Sulphur lick fork of Drakes Creek of Barren River, beginning at a large post oak Northeast corner of a tract of six hundred and forty acre tract granted to Chamblen Hutson running South two hundred and eleven poles to two post oaks William Hobdys corner then east one hundred and sixty three poles to a small black oak sapling then North thirty one degrees East thirty six poles to a black oak Saplin, then North seventy degrees East fourteen poles to a black oak then North one hundred and seventy four oles to a hickory then West one hundred and seventy four poles to the beginning it being part of a thousand acre tract granted to the said John Guin reference being thereunto paid with more fully show to have and to hold from him the sd John Gwin and his heirs executors administrators and assings and every other person or persons forever do warrant and forever defend to him the sd John Gilbert and his heirs executor administrators and assigns in witness whereunto him the sd John Gwin has hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day and year first above written and in precence of the subscribing witnesses.
