State of Tennessee
Sumner County Pleas at the Court house in Gallatin before the Honl. Thos. Marry one of the
circuit court judges for said State on the 3rd Monday in October A. D. 1840 Simon C. Bruce &
others Exparte Final Decree.
Be it remembered that this cause came on for final hearing upon the report of the Clerk which is unexcepted to 2 is in all things confirmed It thereon appearing that Thomas A. Bruce on the 15th Jany 1838 became the purchaser of the tract of Land in the petition mentioned at the Sum of Fifteen hundred dollars due in twelve months and that he executes his notes with Simion C. Bruce John O. McClain and S. M. Wilson security Bounded as follows Beginning at a sugar tree stump and rock Thence North 257 poles to a stake in Cooks west boundary line and corner to James Davis Thence West 97 poles to a White oak in Davis line and corner of Zacariah Wilson. Thence South 23 degrees West 160 poles to a stake in the Bank of Bledsoes Creek Thence South 59 1/2 degrees East 87 poles to a Sycamore in the bank of said creek Thence South 24 degrees West 60 poles to a Sycamore in the Bank of said Creek Thence East 116 poles to the Beginning It is ordered acknowledged and decreed by the Court that tho of said Land be divested out of the said Simion C. Bruce James Bruce and the minor Heirs of Hiram Bruce and James Bruce (to wit) Mary and James Bruce and their heirs and vested in the said Purchaser Thomas A. Bruce and his heirs. It is further ordered that the cost be paid out of said fund by Thos. A. Bruce and the commisioner be allowed the Sum of $20 Dollars to be taxes in the Bill of Costs.

foregoing is a full true and perfect transcript of the final decree in the case of Simion C. Bruce
and others Exparte as appears of Record in my office Given under my hand and seal of office at
office in Gallatin this 11th day of November 1840 and 65 year of the independence of the United
States.
