Indenture made this eleventh day of may in the year of our lord eighteen hundred and _____
between _____ and William CARINGTON of the first part and Theodorick PATTON both of the
state of Tennessee and county of Sumner. That the said William CARINGTON hath bargained &
sold unto the said T. M. PATTON for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars to
him in hand paid_______ a certain parcel of land lying on Sinking Creek of Cumberland River
being part of a tract formerly belonging to THE HEIRS OF Jacob HOUDESHELL sold by John
GOURLEY to William GRAY and by GRAY to said CARINGTON. Beginning at the south east
corner of said heirs running ____to Albert McCALLS......Laurence's line......belonging to
Lewis_______ containing one hundred and _____ acres.........rights titles to said T. M. PATTON
his heirs and assigns forever.
