This indenture made this 27th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand
Eight hundred & Eighteen between Abner Wason of Wixom County & State of Tennessee &
Henry Wright of the County of Allen & State of Kentucky of the one part & Richard Holaway of
the county of Sumner & State of Tennessee of the other part Witnesseth that the said Abner
Wasson & Henry Wright for & in consideration of the sum of two hundred & twenty dollars in
hand paid by the said Richard Holoway (the receipt is hereby acknowledged) doth give, grant,
covenant &agree, and by these presents hath given granted covenanted _______ and conveyed
bargained and sold to him the said Richard Holoway a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying
and being in the County of Sumner aforesaid & on Bledsoe creek Beginning at an Elm Hickory &
Beech at the mouth of the otter fork bearing west two hundred and sixty poles to a stake, thence
north one hundred & sixty poles to a stake, thence south one hundred and sixty eight and a half
poles to the Beginning containing two hundred and seventy four acres of land be the same more
or less (which land was granted to John Boggs by the State of North Carolina for the services in
continental line) to have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises with all and singular the rights,
profits hereditaments and appurences (sic) to the said Richard Holoway his heirs & assignes for
and the said Abner Wason & Henry Wright doth for themselves their heirs Executors
and administrators forever warrant and defend the aforesaid land & premises to him the said
Richard Holoway his heirs and assignes forever. In witness whereof the said Abner Wason &
Henry Wright hath herewith set their hands and offered their seals this day and year first above

This Deed of bargain & sale between Abner Wasson & Henry Wright of the one part
and Richard Holoway of the other part for 274 acres of land was duly proved in open court by
the oaths of Josephus H. Conn & Jno Brown subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to
be Registered. A copy List, David Shelby, clerk
