In the name of God Amen I William CAROTHERS _ _ being now sick and weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do therefore make this my last will and Testament.
First
I give and bequeath to my brother Ezekiel CARUTHERS all and singular all my land together
with my bay horse by him to be possessed.
Secondly
I give and bequeath to my sister Sally my Negro boy Henry as her own right and property until he
arrives to the age of forty five at the expiration of which time he is to be legally liberated.
Thirdly
I give and bequeath to Robert SCOT, son of James & Polly SCOT my horse colt. I do also by
this my last will and Testament, ordain and appoint David WILSON my sole Executor. I do
hereby ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I
have caused my name and seal to be assigned this eighteenth of September Eighteen hundred and
fourteen.

I do further ordain that all other property that I may now possess as well as all judgments or

The last will and Testament of William CAROTHERS dec'd was exhibited in court for probate
and the same thereupon is duly proved by the oaths of Hugh CAROTHERS and James SCOTT,
subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be ____ David WILSON Executor named in said
will and Testament qualified as such by taking the oath of an Executor as prescribed by law.
