Kathryn Bowling McKown for her time and efforts and for making this available to the users of the Sullivan County TNGenWeb Project.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information may be found via the <a title=\"TVA\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tva.gov\/river\/landandshore\/culturalresources\/cemeteries.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Tennessee Valley Authority&#8217;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY CEMETERY RELOCATION AT THE SOUTH HOLSTON RESERVOIR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee Valley Authority started the relocation of graves from different cemeteries in the Holston Valley in the 1930s . The graves had to be removed as the filling of the reservoir would flood or isolate many of these cemeteries. Many graves were left where they were, and that area was flooded.
