There are many (at least 48) graves marked only by flat, concrete markers, approximately 60 graves with illegible markers and probably several unmarked graves.

Turn off Old Jonesborough Road onto Grubb Lane. Follow to the end of Grubb Lane and turn left onto the road in front of the white house. The road goes into the cemetery. This is the Grubb Cemetery, also called the Stophel/ Grubb Cemetery. David Stophel Sr. was the original landowner of the cemetery. The current treasurer of the cemetery is Mr. R.J. Hilliard, a great-grandson of David Stophel Sr. About 2004, the cemetery was completely overgrown, and a new entrance was designed when the previous entrance was closed off. The cemetery has since been cleaned and now has regular maintenance. (Debbie Grubb Gilliam)

Copied by Josephine S. Carmack July 19, 1967.
