She gave this statement when she was 104 years old and died when she was 105 years old. Her report on the family was given during an interview taken by her nephew, Benjamin Booher in 1901 at the home of her grandson in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky. It was reported by Benjamin F. to the family reunion in 1902 at Darlington, Indiana. She reported that:

“My name is Elizabeth Parrigan and I was the youngest Daughter of John Booher. I was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee 11 Jan 1797, and if I live till my next birthday I will be one hundred and five years old. We moved to four miles of Bristol, Tennessee when I was nineteen years old from Washington County, Virginia, Abington being he county seat We moved to Clinton Coutny Ky , one mile form where we now live 17 Oct 1858. I was married on 10 Aug, 1821, at the age of 24 in Washington County, Virginia, to Henry Parrigan………………………………

My father John Booher was of German Parentage. My Grandfather came form Germany to Pennsylvania but my father and mother were born in this country.

My grandparents died when I was a child and my father went back to get his legacy when I was about 10 years old. Martin was my father’s brother. My Father had 10 children, eight sons and two daughters. They were Jacob, Mary “Polly”, William, Benjamin, Jehu (died in infancy), John, Frederick, Twins Isaac and Henry and Elizabeth.”

From this report we can conclude these facts.

She was born in 1797

Her parents were born in America

her grandparents of German origin (Born in Germany)

When she was about 10 years old, her father (John Booher) returned to Pennsylvania to claim his legacy.

That would put John Booher going back to PA in about 1807. So we should look for a Booher who’s estate was settled in this time period. We can conclude that a parent not know if mother or father died on or before about 1807.

We know from Land Deeds that John Booher had acquired land in Sullivan County TN in 1799

We know that the line between TN and VA, Walker Line Dispute, was not settled until about 1818

We know that John Booher and Martin Booher were born in America)

We know that the father of John and Martin Booher was born in Germany, an emigrnat to America)

In 1816, when she was 19 years old, they moved to within four miles of Bristol Virginia/Tennessee (County seat: Abington).

On August 10, 1821, at the age of twenty-four, she was married there to Henry Parrigin. Together they raised seven children. On October 17, 1858, they moved to Clinton County, Kentucky, where she lived until her death at age 105 on April 3, 1902.

Subject: Martinus Bucher

Earlier this year you indicated on the Bucher Forum that a 1794 will of Peter Bucher of East Hanover Twp, Dauphin Co, Pa listed his children and that you descend from Martinus and John and would like to receive info about possible links to them.
