Location: Behind the house at 1030 Lebanon Road<\/p>

Description: Located behind the house at 1030 Lebanon Road, on top of the hill. The cemetery is overgrown and several stones are now missing. Many of them have fallen over and some are broken. There were fifteen graves marked by field stones and it was impossible to tell how many unmarked graves.<\/p>\r\n<\/p>

Sullivan County, Tennessee Deed book 3, page 319, Aron Bacon bought 128 acres on Horse Creek from Henry Sullivan in August 1799.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sullivan County, Tennessee Deed book 4, page 727 records that Robert Easley sold to Arin Bacon 200 acres of land on 7 Oct 1805.<\/span><\/p>\n

Story about this cemetery:\u00a0 A newspaper reporter wanted to do a story on us, so she took a day and followed us around listening and getting notes.\u00a0 We had an old transcription of this cemetery and there were some markers that we couldn’t find.\u00a0 We searched for a while and I was mumbling and said, “I just hate losing dead people!”\u00a0 That was the one quote that the reporter put in the newspaper.\u00a0 We all got a big laugh about it.\u00a0 When I redid my office, I ordered the saying from Upper Case Living and that’s what’s above my desk!\u00a0 Definitely a conversation starter!
