We have never found where she was before this time — which was in 1723. Nor can we find her later. She was indentured to a Francis Mauldin. After the date of the indenture paper, where did she go?

After Johannes’ indenture time was completed, he was a very industrious man and became quite prosperous. The Maryland Society made better provisions than most of the other colonies for indentured servants upon fulfillment of the contracts. Customarily the servant was given a full suit of clothes, fifty acres of land, an ax, two hoes and three barrels of corn. For an enterprising person this was sufficient for him to establish himself as a farmer and enterprising person, and take his place in community affairs.
