Mary Ann Tuggle Rogers (who married Joseph A. Rogers of Stewart County, TN in 1856) was born in Stewart County, TN and died in Sebastian/Hartford/AR in 1912. She was the mother of Mary Margaret Rogers Harris Powers (1863-1950), and grandmother of Jennie Carlyle Powers Koon (1898-2001).
She was the daughter of John Wyatt Tuggle and Tolitha Elizabeth Stavely Tuggle of Stewart County.
Mary Margaret Rogers Powers (1863-1950), born Stewart County, TN, daughter of Mary Ann Tuggle Rogers and Joseph A. Rogers of Stewart County, TN. This picture was taken in 1912, and my grandmother, Jennie Carlyle Powers Koon (1898-2001), my grandmother, remembered placing the collar piece on when this picture was taken. Mary Margaret Rogers Harris Powers was probably about 49 years of age.
Mary Margaret Rogers Powers married first Thomas Harris and then became a widow, she then married my great grandfather Emmett Powers of Montgomery County, TN, the couple of which I am a descendant. My middle initial "E" is for Emmett Powers.

This a picture of myself, Wiley Emmett Koon, Jr. of Imperial, Polk County, FL and Shirley Marx Morrisett, of Tucson, AZ. We are both the great grandchildren of Mary Margaret Rogers Harris Powers (1863-1950) of Stewart County, TN. I am the great grandson of Mary Margaret and Emmett Powers. Shirley is a descendant of Mary Margaret and Thomas Harris. We are half second cousins. My grandmother was Jennie Carlyle Powers Koon (1898 -2001) and Shirley is a the granddaughter of Grace Harris Watson (1891-1982).
Mary Margaret was the daughter of Mary Ann Tuggle Rogers and Joseph A. Rogers of Stewart County, TN. She was born almost after the Battle of Fort Donelson in Dover, where Grant became the leader of the Union forces in 1862! How miserable it must have been for them!!!
