In the year of Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ - one thou-
sand eight hundred and twenty three. In the name God,
Amen. First I will my body to be decently buried &
comment my soul to God who gave it. And after all my
full debts are paid I will my estate as follows, towit
it is my will that all my property be sold & that my
wife Elizabeth have four hundred Dollars for her portion.
Thirdly I give unto my son John one dollar. Fourthly
I give unto my son Francis one Dollar. Fifthly I
give unto my son Michael one dollar. Sixthly I
give unto my son William one dollar. Seventhly I
give unto my daughter Polly one dollar. Eightly I
give unto my daughter Sally one dollar. Ninthly the
balance of my estate to be equally divided between my
sons Martin and James & my daughters Susanna &
Lydia. I pronounce and declare this to be my last will
and testament, disanulling & making all others made by
and or in my name. But further it is my will
that James Cartwright and my Wife Elizabeth be my
executors to this my will which I now sigh with mine

The last will and testament of Landy Shoemake decs. Was produced and duly
proven in open Court by the oathe of James Cartwright and an motion
ordered to be recorded as the excutrix and executor therein named reposing to
qualify On motion Lodwick Vaden is appointed administrator of said estate
with the will amened, Who came into court and qualified & together with
John B. Hughes and William Shoemake his security entered into bond in the
Sum of one thousand Dollars. Conditioned as the law timely letters of
administration & is granted him an divided, estate
