In the name of God Amen. I, Patrick Hubbard of the County of Smith an State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory do make and declare this my last will and Testament in the manner and form following. First I give unto my loving wife Polly all my estate both real and personal during her natural life and at her death be equally divided between my Children say Sally Ann, Nancy, Cornelius, William H., Joel, Judah, James, Andy, Mary, Martha, Henry. Now whereas Sally Ann and Nancy has received from me one horse bridle and saddle, one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf, it is my wish that each and every one of the other Children shall receive from my estate as they come of age or as they marry the same kind of property or its value that I have given to my first two and I want my loving wife Polly to manage so as to be able to do so without having to sell other property to do it. It is my desire that my wife keep all the children together and raise up and educate them as much as in her power lies, and whereas I have no outstanding debts but what my wife will be able to meet and pay off it is my wish and desire that the property remain in her hands and pay off all my debts as they become due and I do appoint my loving wife Polly Hubbard my Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament this 23rd day of December in the year of our Lord 1848. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal in the presence of us, who at his request in his presence and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
