In the name of God Amen I Josiah Gale of
Chesterfield county be-
ing in good health and of sound mind do make this my
last will and teste-
ment in manner following to wit, First I lend my
beloved wife Sally Gale
the use of all my estate, both real & personal during her life & widow
hood and at her death or marriage which shall first
happen my will is that
my estate so lent her be equally divided among all
my children then living
or their legal representatives. I appoint my son
James Gale and my
Brother in law Lafon & my friend Phillip Turpin
of Swife Creek Executors
of all this my last will & testement hereby
revoking all wills by me
heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and
affixed my seal this day August 1791

County do certify that the foregoing is a correct copy of the will of Josiah
Gale Deceased which has been party proven in the court of the said County and
is now filed in my office In testemony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my
hand carried the official seal of the said County to be here unto affixed this
14th day of October in the year of Christ one Thousand eight hundred & five
in the thirteenth year of Said commonwealth

State of Virginia, Chesterfield County To wit, I Thomas
Watkins
Clerk of the afforesaid County do certify that the
foregoing is a correct copy of the Inventory &
appraisment of Josiah Gale Decd which has been
returned and duly recorded in the court of
said County.

that Thomas Watkins is clerk of the Court and Edward
Mosely the Senior Majistrate for the
county of Chesterfield and in the commonwealth and
that full faith and credit is due to what so
ever may be attested by either of them in their

Persuant to a Division made by the Estate of Josiah
Gale Deceased, We Elisabeth, Josiah,
John & Sally Gale have received James Gale
Executor, the Sum of six Hundred and sixteen
and one eighth dollars in property cash. In full of our Legacies & all other
claims gainst the
