Elvie Edward Swaffer was the son of Benjamine Larkin and Mary Jane Tomlinson Swaffer,
spelled Swaffar on the 1880 census of Wilson Co. Tn. Page 387C. We only recently found
the spelling was different and are just beginning to find information about the early Swaffar line.

Benjamin Larkin Swaffar was born abt. 1839 in Tennessee, parents are unknown at this time.
Mary Jane Tomlinson was born abt. 1844 in Tennessee and her parents are also unknown.
We do know that they lived in the Wilson county section close to Trousdale County on the
old Hartsville to Lebanon highway. A quick review of the 1870 census records did not
reveal any Swaffar/Swaffer surnames. Was the spelling changed again?

The first Question "Larkin" was a Family named handed down from the marriage of
Jacob SWAFFORD and Sarah LARKIN married abt. 1790 in Greenville Cty., SC.

Minerva Edward Dies was the daughter of Samuel Dies and Mary Gillie Ramsey,
spelled Dias on the 1880 census of Wilson Co. Tn. Page 384D. Parents of Samuel
and Mary are unknown.

Samuel Dias b. March 29, 1850 married Mary Gillie Ramsey abt 1875.
They lived in the same general area as the Benjamin Swaffar family.
