George Richard Silcox and Martha Elizabeth Silcox
This picture is of my great grandparents; George Richard Silcox, b. 2/12/1857, d. 4/8/1934
and wife Martha Elizabeth (Jenkins) Silcox, b. 10/1/1865, d. 12/17/1946. burried in Heitt
cemetery (marker reads G.C. Silcox, not sure where the C. came from, maybe a mistake.
Back in that day it was customery for the men to be holding the tools of thier trade when photographed,
notice the hammer and saws in my great grandpa's hands, he was a carpenter and home builder in Smith Co.
This picture is of my grandparents From left to right are; Carl Comstock and wife Lee
(Silcox) Comstock with my (Mammy)Maggie (Pope) Silcox and (Pappy)George "Benton" Silcox
(son of George R. and Martha Silcox) the family moved to Smith co. from Clay co. around 1900
They are all burried in the Hiett cemetery.
