Sircy, Jasper Daniel  1863 – 1924

On last Thursday afternoon, June 12, death claimed Jasper D. Sircy of Difficult, one of the leading citizens of that section of Smith County.  He suffered a stroke of paralysis Wednesday which caused his death a few hours later.  Mr. Sircy was 61 years old and is survived by ten children, two of whom, Bernice and Ernest are citizens of Jackson County and are well known merchants.

Funeral was conducted by Rev. Calvin Gregory, and the remains were interred in the family lot near the home.  The deceased was a good citizen and held the respect of all who knew him.

IN MEMORY

Whereas, it has been the pleasure of our Heavenly Father to remove from us to Heaven, our beloved brother, Jasper D. Sircy, on June 12th, 1924.  He had been in poor health for several years and suffered so much before his death.  All that loving hands could do was done for him, but God saw fit to call him away.  He leaves a broken-hearted wife, three sons, seven daughters, three brothers and four sisters to mourn his going away. Jasper was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed in his home, but we are so thankful that we don’t mourn without a hope of meeting him in a better world.  But we bow in humble submission and say, “Thy Will be Done, not Ours.”  We say to the children, give your hearts to Jesus, be humble and prayerful, especially to the ones that are left without a father or mother, and you will see him again, walking the streets of pearl.  We can only say to his kind and loving wife, be patient of meeting your dear husband again.  We feel like that he will be at the gate, waiting for his loved ones. He loved his home, and it was a pleasure to him to make others enjoy coming to his home. We can’t understand why God took such a flower out of his home.  But we are so thankful we can meet dear brother some sweet day.  But oh!  We’ll miss him.  There will be a vacant chair.  We are so glad we can meet him over there.
