Shoulders, Walter L.  1891 - 1955

    

 

          Walter Shoulders, a 63 year old farmer of the Graveltown section of Peyton's Creek, died at three o'clock Monday morning at the Smith County Hospital at Carthage, death being attributed to a heart attack.  He had spent about nine days in the hospital.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eula Mae Gregory Shoulders, one son Flo B. Shoulders, of the Graveltown section, two grandchildren, two brothers, Brice Shoulders, of the Monoville section; and Richard Shoulders, of the Chestnut Mound community: and two sisters, Mrs. Ollie West, of Nashville; and Mrs. Willie Coons of White's Creek, Tenn.

       

         Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Elders T. C. Jones and Arnett Gregory from Mt. Tabor Baptist church. He had been a member of Peyton's Creek Baptist church for many years. Burial followed in the C. C. Sloan cemetery at Pleasant Shade.  The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pete Shoulders and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
