Funeral
services for Mr. James E. Green of South Carthage
were conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 1995, by Elder Ronnie Harrison from
the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed the 3:00 p.m.
services in the Defeated
Creek Memorial
Gardens. Masonic Chapel services were conducted Monday
evening at 8:00 p.m. by Carthage Benevolent Lodge #14 F & A M, of which Mr.
Green was a member.
Mr.
Green died at 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, July 17, at the Centennial
Medical Center
in Nashville at
the age of 62 of cancer. Born in the Difficult Community, he was the Son of
Mrs. Ocie Lee Kemp Green and the late Willie Elbert Green. On September 5, 1990, he was married to the
Former Jewell Kemp Brooks, who survives.
He attended Smith County High School and was a longtime member of the Defeated
Creek Missionary Baptist Church at Difficult With a career As an over the road
trucker that spanned thirty years, Mr. Green Retired from Consolidated Freight
Ways in 1993 after driving for them for eleven years.
Surviving
in addition to his wife and mother are three children: Kenneth Green of Mt.
Juliet, Victor Green of Donelson and James E. Green II of Lebanon; five
step-children: Steve and Mark Brooks of Carthage, Richard and Randall Brooks
and Lisa Miller, all of South Carthage; two grandchildren; five
step-grandchildren. Sanderson Funeral Home of Carthage,
