This indenture made this 27^th day of July in the year of our Lord 1803 between Edmund Jennings of Smith County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Elias Johns of the same State and County aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Edmund Jennings for and in consideration of Six Hundred Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Elias Johns his Heirs and Assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres lying and being on Dixons Creek, Beginning on a Sugartree and Lynn near the Widow Ballou’s fence on Ephraim Payton’s west boundary, runs thence north two hundred poles to a White Ash and White Oak, thence west one hundred and sixty poles to a stake, thence south two hundred poles to a Sugartree and Ash, thence east to the beginning, together with all and singular the rights profits advantages and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said Elias Johns his Heirs and Assigns forever, free from all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said Edmund Jennings doth hereunto set his hand and seal this day and date above written.

To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come--- Greeting:

Know ye, That-by virtue of Entry No. 166 In Perry County, dated 13^th December 1820 made in the name of William Hughlett founded on Certificate Warrant number 1740 issued to William Hughlett for One Hundred acres Survey bearing date, the 22^nd day of June 1820 there is granted by the said State of Tennessee, unto Elias Johns, assignee of Wm. Hughlett a certain Tract or Parcel of land, containing Eighty four acres situated, lying and being in the County of Perry, in the 9^th Surveyors District on the Tennessee river in the eighth ____ and ninth range, Beginning on an Ash, the North East Corner of Thomas Shute’s entry number One Hundred and Sixty three for Three Hundred and twenty acres, Runs thence down the meanders of said river 200 poles to a hickory, Ben McCullochs South East corner of entry number 130, on the bank of said river; thence West with the South line of the same Twenty eight poles to a maple, then South One hundred and Seventy-five poles to an elm, on the North boundary line of Shute’s entry number 163; thence East with the said line One hundred and twenty poles to the beginning, With the hereditaments and appurtenances to have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said Elias Johns and his heirs forever. In Witness Whereof, Aaron V. Brown, Governor of the State of Tennessee, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed, at Nashville, on the First day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven and of the Independence of the United States the Seventy Second.
