Fifty acres on the waters of Peytons Creek

The State of Tennessee - No. 9066
To All To Whom These Presents Shall Come,
Greeting: KNOW YE, that for, and in
consideration of the sum of one cent per acre, paid into the Office of the
Entry-Taker of Smith County, and entered on the 4th day of August
1827 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said
state, passed on the twenty second day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and twenty three, and the acts supplemental thereto by No. 1699.
There is granted by the said State of Tennessee, unto
Allen Mitchell, Jeremiah Gregory and Pitts Gregory a certain Tract or Parcel of
Land, containing fifty acres by survey bearing date the 26th day of
January 1828, lying in said county, on the waters of Peytons Creek and bounded
as follows to wit Beginning on said Mitchells South East corner of 25 acres and
West boundary of his other tract running thence West ninety two poles to the
South West corner of said 25 acres in Gregorys East boundary thence South with
the same passing his South East corner at one hundred and five poles in all one
hundred and thirteen poles to a Lynn thence East sixty four poles to a stake in
said Gregorys West boundary thence North with the same eighty five poles to a
chestnut oak his North West corner thence East with his North boundary seventy
eight poles to a dogwood said Mitchells South West corner thence North with his
line seventy eight poles to the beginning.
With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel
of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said Allen Mitchell & others and
his heirs forever. In witness whereof,
Samuel Houston Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand,
and caused the great seal of the state to be affixed, at Nashville, on the 14th
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine
and of the Independence of the United States, the fifty third.
