Sampson Cemetery
The Sampson Cemetery is located approx. 5 miles west of Carthage on hill
across from Sampson's Mineral Well. Some of the larger stones were damaged
by a tornado that passed through the cemetery a couple of years ago.
There are over 80 burials in this active cemetery. Some of the surnames
found are: Bates, Kenny, Kinslow, Gore, Harper, McKinney, Wilson, Taylor, Williams,
Hailey, Sampson. Several burials date in the mid to late 1800's.
