Bransford-Baird Cemetery
The Bransford-Baird Cemetery is located at # 72 Dry Fork Road about 100
yards N of the historic Hughes-Ward home. This house built ca.1825 was
the Littleberry Hughes home and later the home of their daughter and
son-in-law Lucy Lea and Nathan Ward. Nathan and Lucy's son William Walker
Ward, who lived in this house from age 12, gained fame as a Col. under
John Hunt Morgan during the War between the States. This house is now
owned by Charles McKinney. Had the top portion of the Bransford stone
not fell it would have been one of the tallest in the county at approx
12 feet tall.

NOTE: Evidence was discovered that a rock wall next to this cemetery had
been destroyed, nothing but 1/2 footstone was found, it is beleived that
these were the graves of Littlleberry Hughes and wife.
